André’s background is in technology and business services, where he spent the early part of his career as a strategy consultant advising TMT and financial services clients before transitioning into venture capital where he was involved in backing a number of early stage technology investments. Before joining the team, Andre spent over four years as a corporate finance advisor, working across a range of transactions involving financing and M&A. André holds a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from Kings College London and In the Investment Management Certificate from the CFA Society of the UK alongside professional qualifications from CIMA and ICAEW. He is passionate about new technologies and their impact on sustainability and conservation of the natural environment.
Christine started her career at Standard Bank Group, where she held various roles across Operations, Sales & Trading, and Debt Capital Markets Investment Banking. Her role in Debt Capital Markets included helping to raise approximately $4billion in bonds from the international public markets for national governments, state owned enterprises, and corporations. Christine has also worked at MVision Private Equity Advisers, where she has raised equity funds for private equity groups and provided investor relations and marketing strategy support. Christine holds a MSc Social Policy Degree from the London School of Economics, a MSc International Relations from the Universiteit van Amsterdam, and a BA Anthropology from McGill University. In her spare time, Christine volunteers as a mentor for primary school aged children with challenging behaviour.
Prior to joining Environmental Finance, Alicia qualified as a chartered accountant at Deloitte, where she provided audit and advisory services to fast growing private equity backed businesses. Alicia holds a first class degree in Economics from the University of Bristol, where she specialised in the study of environmental economics and international development. Alicia’s previous experience includes working for a social enterprise providing employment opportunities in Nairobi, managing the production of handmade Christmas crackers. While at Deloitte, Alicia volunteered as part of a team supporting an educational charity building schools in Cambodia, Myanmar and Nepal. Alicia loves to travel by bicycle and recently cycled from Lands End to John O’Groats.
Olivia started her career in capital markets origination at Citi, where she worked with clients across EMEA, structuring loan facilities for general and event-driven purposes. While at Citi, Olivia became involved in the growing green finance industry and worked on the structuring and syndication of some of the industry’s first corporate green loans, totaling over €1.3 billion. In 2017, Olivia spent six weeks in Uganda advising two entrepreneurs on the development and growth of their businesses, a bakery and a printing shop respectively, enabling her clients to pitch for up to £2,000 equivalent of tailored zero-interest loans to further their businesses.
Prior to joining Environmental Finance, Hannah worked as a Fund Management Analyst at Big Issue Invest (BII), a social impact investor, designing and delivering Social Impact Bonds for social enterprises and local authorities across the UK. While at BII, Hannah also made debt and equity investments into social enterprises in the health and wellbeing, financial inclusion and renewable energy sectors. At the start of her career, Hannah spent two years in the Middle East working with local Palestinian community organisations and farmers who were looking for sustainable business solutions and grant funding. Hannah holds a BA in International Relations from Loughborough University and a Graduate Diploma in Law from BPP Law school. Hannah enjoys trail running in the mountains as well as bikepacking and is always looking for new places to explore by bike.
Nikki is responsible for sourcing and managing investments for the PICNIC fund. Nikki has extensive experience in investment banking; she began her career at National Australia Bank working on “Kangaroo” bonds for EMEA clients and EMTN transactions. She subsequently moved to JPMorgan where she spent over ten years in the Debt Capital Markets investment banking team. Nikki’s initial focus was to originate debt related transactions for UK and Irish banks; however, following the financial crisis, Nikki became a specialist in complex liability management transactions for large corporates and financials, eventually heading the EMEA liability management team. Nikki holds a first class degree in Economics from Durham University. In her spare time, Nikki is passionate about art and her local community. Nikki is the founder and chair of the Friends of Graham Street Park, a local park-based community charity.
Jing brings significant experience in Private Equity, Project Finance and Asset Management, especially in the energy sector. Jing also works as Investment Director at Immersa Limited, an energy solution company focusing on battery storage and other renewables. Prior to joining Environmental Finance, Jing gained experience in Oxford Capital where she was part of the Infrastructure Investment team sourcing, evaluating and screening potential deals and helping the team build a highly profitable investment portfolio. Jing has also worked for Lightsource Renewables and Consensus Business Group in London where she gained experience in project investment and asset management. Jing graduated from the University of Nottingham with a Master’s Degree in Finance and Investment.
